Central Park Insurance Purchases Liberty Building
Central Park Insurance has purchased the Liberty Building from Preferred Brokers, LLC. The 4,696 square-foot building on 0.4 acre at 2609 Lafayette Blvd. in Fredericksburg sold for $550,000. James A. Scully of Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer handled the sale negotiations on behalf of the buyer.

Leadership Fredericksburg Accepting Applications
The Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce is accepting applications for its tenth Leadership Fredericksburg class. The program begins with an orientation session in September, followed by eight monthly sessions in which participants learn about the businesses, issues, government, history, resources, and challenges that impact the Fredericksburg region. Fellows are assigned to teams to complete an action learning project with an area nonprofit. Project presentations and the graduation ceremony occur in May 2017. Cost of participation is $1,900 for businesses, $1,550 for nonprofits and $2,600 for non-Chamber members. There is a $25 application fee. Laura Brophy Joins Susan Carol Creative
Susan Carol Creative public relations and marketing communications has appointed Laura Brophy to the agency’s leadership team. Brophy’s primary role will be in account management and new business development. Brophy has more than 13 years of experience working with clients in both private and public sectors, assisting companies in corporate strategy, branding and communications tactics. Her work will also include website consulting, brand messaging and media relations for the agency’s local, national and international clients.

National Counseling Group Treatment Foster Care Becomes Embrace Treatment Foster Care
National Counseling Group (NCG) Treatment Foster Care has become Embrace Treatment Foster Care, an ncgCare partner. “While it made sense to operate TFC within NCG for a while, we feel that our program will be better served by establishing its own identity,” the group said in a press release. Embrace Treatment Foster Care provides specialized foster home placements for children suffering from abuse, neglect, or medical issues.

Food Lion Feeds Donates 10,000 Meals to the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank
Food Lion Feeds partnered with the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) to help jump-start the annual Stamp Out Hunger food drive by donating 10,000 meals to the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank.
