Friends of Chatham – Chatham Manor 1920’s Garden Replication
This grant will support repairs to the temple housing the Pan statue.
Friends of the Rappahannock – Life Along the Rappahannock: An Oral History Project
This grant will help collect audio-visual documentaries of the oral histories of people living along the Rappahannock River.
Germanna Community College Educational Foundation, Inc. – Germanna Community College Nature and Fitness Trail
This grant will help create a nature and fitness trail on the Fredericksburg Area Campus.
Capital Caring Hospice – Caring Circles
This grant will support Caring Circles, a support group for area school-aged children, who have experienced the death of a loved one.
disAbility Resource Center of the Rappahannock, Inc. – Equipment Connection
This grant supports distribution of refurbished adaptive equipment for children at no cost to them.
Downtown Greens, Inc. – Downtown Youth Farm Program
This grant will support a free, after-school program for third through fifth grade children. Weekly activities include nature crafts, games, environmental presentations and a healthy snack. The young farmers will take home produce, prepare community dinners with guest chefs, and have monthly trips to the Farmers Market to sell their produce.
Mental Health America of Fredericksburg – Suicide Prevention Education
This grant supports the Suicide Prevention Education program, which is provided in Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania high schools.
Yoga Foundation of Fredericksburg – Youth Yoga
This grant will support youth yoga programs at the Rappahannock Juvenile Center , The Gladys H. Oberle School, Empowerhouse, and regional Head Start programs in Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania, and Stafford.
Central Rappahannock Heritage Center, Inc. – Purchase and Installation of Printer-Scanners for Workstations
This grant allows volunteers to make high resolution digital images of historic documents and photographs unique to the cultural heritage of the Central Rappahannock area.
Fredericksburg Area Museum – Conserve the Germanna Colony/Hebron Lutheran Church 1729 Pulpit Bible
This grant will preserve a rare object from the Germanna Colony and from one of the first churches in North America which was not Church of England.
Fredericksburg Festival for the Performing Arts (now ArtsLIVE!) – The FFPA Virginia Opera in the Schools Program
This grant will support opera performances in area schools.
Rappanhannock Pops Orchestra Inc. – Sensory Friendly Concert
This grant will support a sensory friendly concert for local children suffering from autism and other learning and developmental disabilities.
Stafford Junction, Inc. – Brain Builder’s Afterschool Tutoring
This grant will help add additional site coordinators and expand the tutoring services from five to nine locations.
Sunrise For All, Inc. – Youth Equine Therapy and Life Preparation Skills (YES)
This grant will support horseback riding lessons for at-risk youth, ages 12-18, who have difficulties with anger management, substance abuse, poor social skills, and inappropriate problem-solving skills.
Fredericksburg Area Trails Management and User Group – Erosion Control and Trail Signage
This grant will provide for erosion control measures along the Rappahannock River, and for mile markers along the river trails.
Stafford County Parks & Recreation – Water For Dogs and Humans
This grant will help install a water fountain at the Duff McDuff Green Dog Park. The water fountain will have a water station and hose for dogs, and a bottle filling station for their humans.
Gari Melchers Home and Studio at Belmont – Belmont Trail Access and Historic Walkway Restoration
This grant supported the connection of Belmont to the Belmont – Ferry Farm Trail, as well as restoration of an original walkway into Belmont.
Children’s Museum of Richmond – Field Trips for Disadvantaged Students
This grant will underwrite The Children’s Museum in Fredericksburg to provide enrichment programs to pre-K through 2nd grade students from Fredericksburg, Stafford, King George, Caroline, and Spotsylvania. Attendees will also receive a book to take home.
Lucha Ministries Inc. – Bridges of Hope
This grant will support tutoring programs for Spanish-speaking K-12 students with limited English proficiency, and workshops for parents to better engage in their child’s education.
Open Hand of Fredericksburg – STARS Program Extension
This grant will support expansion of the STARS program, which provides life skills workshops for students enrolled in the GED program at Walker Grant alternative school. Subjects include Job Readiness, Financial Literacy, Work Ethics, and Character Development.
Spotsylvania County Public Schools – Community Bus – Reaching Into Our Community
Funds will support the creation of a Parent, Community and Literacy Resource Bus. The bus will be outfitted with laptops, printers, and wi-fi to deliver educational resources to parents and students where they are — in neighborhoods and even hotels.
Established in 2010, the Duff McDuff Green, Jr. Fund supports the causes Mr. Green cared deeply about, including preservation and providing opportunities for youth and recreation.
The Community Foundation manages and distributes charitable giving in the Rappahannock River region.
