by | Mar 31, 2017 | Traffic

From the Virginia Department of Transportation.

Motorists should anticipate overnight lane closures next week on Interstate 95 in the Fredericksburg area for staining and cleaning of the new overpass at Fall Hill Avenue and scheduled maintenance work on the I-95 southbound overpass at Route 17.

On Sunday evening, crews will continue to stain and clean the new Fall Hill Avenue overpass, which is located at mile marker 131 in Fredericksburg.

Next week, bridge deck repairs will be underway on the I-95 southbound overpass at Route 17 near Exit 133 (Route 17/Falmouth) in Stafford County. Crews will replace temporary asphalt patches on the bridge deck with concrete to provide a smoother, more durable travel surface and to avoid the development of potholes.

I-95 lanes will be closed on the following schedule, weather permitting:

Sunday, April 2
I˗95 Southbound at mile marker 131 (Fall Hill Avenue)
Double lane closure at 10 p.m.
All lanes re-open to traffic by 5 a.m.

Monday, April 3 through Thursday, April 6

Single lane closure at 9 p.m.
Double lane closure at 10 p.m.
