The Fredericksburg Area Museum’s (FAM) Board of Directors and staff will host a grand reopening at the museum from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 22, 2017.

A ribbon cutting ceremony, hosted by Fredericksburg VA Main Street in front of the museum at 907 Princess Anne St., will begin the festivities at 4 p.m., followed by a gallery reception. The events are open to the public, and free.

The temporary exhibits featured at FAM’s grand reopening include World Aflame, The Art of Fly Fishing, Pleasure’s Past, The People’s Street, and Propaganda Art. World Aflame and Propaganda Art focus on World War I and World War II, in coordination with the statewide World War I and World War II Commemorative Commission.

The grand reopening will also launch the museum’s new hours, which are 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Thursday through Monday. The museum will be closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for students and teachers, and $4 for AAA/seniors. Active military and their families are free. Mondays will be Museum Mondays, with free admission all day.
