by | May 4, 2017 | Health & Wellness

Nutritionist Lindsay Pugliese, MS, RD, LDN, will be the first in-store nutritionist in a local Giant supermarket.

She will be located at the 5701 Plank Road Store Fredericksburg, Virginia.

“We are thrilled to welcome Lindsay to the Giant team,” said Lisa Coleman, Lead Nutritionist, Giant Food of Landover, Md. “Her passion for helping customers of all ages incorporate nutrition into their daily lifestyles make her a terrific addition to the program.”

Pugliese received her Master’s of Science in Dietetics and completed her dietetic internship at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. Throughout her career in nutrition and working with a diverse range of clients, Pugilese has been passionate about disease prevention and management for people of all ages, especially diabetes. She will be leading several classes on diabetes management at her Giant store location.

“Many facts and fictions surround the topic of diabetes, and the classes offered by Giant’s nutritionist team are great ways to help people understand the basics, ask questions and learn more about what foods and recipes are best for them in their everyday living,” said Pugliese. “I love that nutrition is unique to each individual’s needs and goals, yet classes can help target a general population with more health education.”

Pugliese joins Giant’s team of 10 in-store nutritionists across Maryland, the District of Columbia and Virginia. Nutritionists conduct one-on-one consultations, store tours and free community classes to help their local customers learn about the importance of eating healthily.
