Apply Now for Historical Preservation grants

by | Sep 1, 2017 | History, Non-Profits

From The Community Foundation

The Community Foundation is accepting applications from area nonprofits for grants from The Virginia Heritage Fund. This fund works with museums, libraries, archives and historical societies to ensure that important local historical documents are protected and available to historians, genealogists and the public — now and in the future. These grants support the collection and preservation of the documentary history of the Rappahannock River region and make our history broadly accessible.

The Virginia Heritage Fund was established at The Community Foundation through a generous initial gift from Paula Felder. Ms. Felder was an astute and avid historian. She worked tirelessly to record and preserve the history of the Fredericksburg region. She is the author of Forgotten Companions and Fielding Lewis and the Washington Family, as well as many articles in the Town & County section of The Free Lance-Star.

The deadline to submit grant applications online at www.cfrrr.org is Monday, October 3rd by 5:00 PM.
