Benny Vitali’s partnered with Friends of the Rappahannock and Fredericksburg Next Generation of Business Leaders to raise $652.90 in support of Big Fall Cleanup 2017. On August 31, the pizza parlor hosted a “dough raiser” campaign at its downtown Fredericksburg location by donating a cut of its revenue for the day to support the cleanup effort and other upcoming F.O.R. cleanups. As a result of this fundraiser, Benny Vitali’s was recognized as a Gold Sponsor for the cleanup.
Big Fall Cleanup is a large-scale, multi-site river cleanup scheduled for Saturday Sept 9 hosted by F.O.R. and NextGen. The effort will enlist 150 volunteers across 10 sites in Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania, and Stafford. Cleanup sites include Old Mill Park, the Rappahannock Canal, Historic Port of Falmouth Park, and Ely’s Ford.
