The Fredericksburg Area Museum (FAM) is excited to announce the opening of its final permanent exhibition, Heirlooms & Relics: Portrait of a Community on November 19 in the Quarles Gallery. Members of the FAM are invited to celebrate the opening of this exhibition on Saturday, November 18 from 6-8 PM with a complimentary reception.
Heirlooms & Relics: Portrait of a Community is one of only two permanent exhibitions on display and will feature several pieces from the museum’s furniture collectionthe museum’s extensive decorative arts collection. This exhibit will illuminate the nature and fabric of eighteenth and nineteenth century Fredericksburg through fine arts while systematically highlighting the artisans and laborers who made the finery possible. The exhibit will draw sometimes direct, sometimes subtle connections between the manifestations of wealth and prosperity and the society that helped sustain it.
Hours of Operation: Thursday – Monday: 10 AM – 5 PM. Visit every Monday for FREE as part of our Museum Monday program.
