Stafford Fire and Rescue units had a busy night responding to incidents on US-17 west of I-95.

A hazardous materials team responded to a call Monday night at apartments on Green Tree Road, according to Fire Chief Mark Lockhart.

“It appears there was an accidental mixing of cleaning materials,” Lockhart said.

At 8:43, more unit responded to a fire call at the Clarion Inn.

“There was a small fire in one room at the Clarion,” Lockhart said. “It was on the east side of the building, and it was contained.”

Lockhart said units from multiple stations in Stafford responded to the blaze, and Fredericksburg provided assistance as well.

Lockhart said nobody had been transported to the hospital in either incident.
