Events-
Sunday, November 26, 2017- Museum Store Sunday at the Mary Washington House
12 – 4 p.m. Mary Washington House
1200 Charles Street
Be a Patron! Support your local museum store! Enjoy live finger vase arrangement demonstrations by the Washington Heritage Museums gardener, Jeannette Rose and a book signing of the new book “Mary Washington” by Michelle Hamilton. Browse our wonderful selection of Virginia products, gifts for the young historian, and holiday and hostess gifts.

Friday, December 1, 2017- Rising Sun Tavern Christmas Open House
6 pm to 8:30 pm at the Rising Sun Tavern
1304 Caroline Street
A holiday tour of the Rising Sun Tavern is a treat for the entire family. Enjoy live music from Colonial Fare, and taste seasonal treats and beverages after touring this historic property decorated for the holidays.

9 am to 12 pm at the Mary Washington House

Pre-order your holiday greens and pick them up during this event. House tours are available with a ticket purchase. Limited greens may be available for purchase at the event, but pre-ordering is highly encouraged.

Sunday, December 3, 2017- Mary Washington House Candlelight Tour & Open House
4:30 pm to 7 pm at the Mary Washington House
1200 Charles Street
Tour the Mary Washington House by candlelight in the spirit of an 18th century Christmas. Shop for unique gifts in the gift shop while sipping hot cider and sampling Mary Washington’s famous gingerbread. The gift shop will be hosting a sale – with so many wonderful items to choose from you will be able to cross some holiday shopping off your list!

Meetings/Lectures-

Thursday, December 7, 10:00 a.m., Washington Heritage Museums will host “Who, What and Where is Main Street in Downtown?” presented by Ann Glave, Executive Director, Fredericksburg VA Main Street
Central Rappahannock Regional Library Theater, 1201 Caroline Street
Ann Glave, the Executive Director or Fredericksburg VA Main Street, a National Main Street community since 2013, will answer the above questions and explore how historic preservation and economic vitality work hand in hand for a vibrant
Downtown.

Holiday Closures-
The Washington Heritage Museums will be closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, and New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. This includes the Hugh Mercer Apothecary Shop, Mary Washington House, and the Rising Sun Tavern.
