Districtwide Flashing Yellow Arrow Project

(New) Sunday – Wednesday, 7 p.m. – 5 a.m. Crews will be working at the following intersections to install flashing yellow arrows at several traffic signals in the Fredericksburg District to help drivers turn left safely against oncoming traffic. Flaggers will direct drivers through the intersection. Virginia State Police will also assist with traffic control. Expect brief delays near the following intersections.
Lancaster County
· Sunday – Monday, 7 p.m. – 5 a.m.
o Route 3 at Route 200 North/Church St.
o Route 3 at Route 200 South/Irvington Rd.

· Tuesday – Wednesday, 7 p.m. – 5 a.m.
o Route 200/Irvington Rd. at Rt. 688/James B. Jones Memorial Highway/Rt. 1036 (Harris Rd.)

Richmond County
· Sunday – Tuesday, 7 p.m. – 5 a.m.
o Route 3 and Route 360 East Bypass/Warsaw

Middlesex County
· Thursday – Friday, 7 p.m. – 5 a.m.
o Route 33/General Puller Highway at Route 227/Urbanna Road and Route 641/Old Courthouse Rd.

Interstate 95 Bridge Rehabilitation Project

Work is underway to improve the deck and substructure on several bridges located on I-95 in Stafford and Spotsylvania.

Stafford County: I-95 Bridge over Potomac Creek at mile marker 137
The I-95 bridges over Potomac Creek are located just before Exit 136 (Centreport Parkway) at mile marker 137.

· I-95 Southbound:
o Monday – Friday, 9 p.m. ˗˗ 10 a.m. Friday, 10 p.m. ˗˗ 7 a.m.
§ ­ 9 p.m. – one lane closed
§ ­ 10 p.m. – 4:30 a.m. – two lanes closed
§ 4:30 a.m. ˗˗ A single lane will remain closed until 10 a.m. the following morning except on Friday when all lanes will reopen at 6 a.m.

o Friday, 10 p.m. ˗˗ 7 a.m. Saturday
§ 10 p.m. – 4:30 a.m. – two lanes closed
§ 4:30 a.m. ˗˗ A single lane will remain closed until 7 a.m. Saturday morning.

Spotsylvania County: I-95 Bridge over Ni River at mile marker 121
The I-95 bridges over the Ni River are located just south of Exit 126/Massaponax at mile marker 121.
· I-95 Southbound:
o Tuesday – Wednesday, 9 p.m. ˗˗ 10 a.m.
§ 9 p.m. – one lane closed
§ 10 p.m. – 4:30 a.m. – two lanes closed
§ 4:30 a.m. All lanes reopen the following morning.

Interstate 95 (Exit 140/Courthouse Road)

Work is underway on a project to improve the I-95 interchange at Exit 140 (Route 630/Courthouse Road). The project includes building a diverging diamond interchange at Exit 140, relocating the Courthouse Road and Route 1 intersection to the south to align with Hospital Center Boulevard, and widening Courthouse Road to four lanes from Cedar Lane to Ramoth Church Road.

Route 630 (Courthouse Road)
Monday – Thursday, 8:30 a.m. ˗˗ 2 p.m. and Friday, 8:30 a.m. ˗˗ 12 p.m. Courthouse Road will be reduced to one lane from Austin Ridge Drive to Red Oak Drive. Crews will be working near the I-95/Exit 140 interchange.
Monday – Thursday, 8:30 a.m. ˗˗ 2 p.m. and Friday, 8:30 a.m. ˗ 12 p.m. Expect alternating, one-way traffic on Courthouse Road between Cedar Lane and Walpole Street for grading and pipe work as part of the widening project.

Woodcutters Road at Courthouse Road
(Update) Monday – Thursday, 9 a.m. ˗˗ 2 p.m. and Friday, 9 a.m. ˗ 12 p.m. Expect alternating, single lane closures on Woodcutters Road between Courthouse Road and Cutstone Drive. Expect brief delays.

Winding Creek Road at Courthouse Road
Monday – Thursday, 9 a.m. ˗˗ 2 p.m. and Friday, 9 a.m. ˗ 12 p.m. Expect alternating, one-way traffic on Winding Creek Road for grading and pipe work as part of the widening project. Flaggers will direct drivers through the interchange and work zone. Expect brief delays.

Interstate 95 Exit 130/Route 3/Fredericksburg Interchange Improvement Project

Construction is underway to improve safety on Interstate 95 and Route 3 at the Exit 130 interchange in Fredericksburg. Motorists should be prepared for the following lane closures, construction activity, and temporary traffic shifts on Route 3, I-95 at Exit 130 and/or Central Park shopping area.

I-95 Northbound at Exit 130
(Update) Sunday ˗˗ Friday, 9 p.m. ˗˗ 4:30 a.m. Expect alternating, single lane closures on I-95 northbound near the Exit 130 interchange. All lanes will reopen at 4:30 a.m. Expect brief, overnight delays.

I-95 Southbound at Exit 130
(Update) Sunday ˗˗ Friday, 9 p.m. ˗˗ 10 a.m. Expect alternating, single lane closures on I-95 southbound near the Exit 130 interchange. Expect brief, overnight delays.

Carl D. Silver Parkway
(Update) Sunday ˗˗ Friday, 10 p.m. ˗˗ 9 a.m. Expect alternating, single lane closures on Carl D. Silver Parkway at Route 3 for water line and storm sewer work.

Route 3 Eastbound
(Update) Sunday ˗˗ Friday, 9 p.m. ˗˗ 4 a.m. Expect alternating, single lane closures on Route 3 eastbound near the interchange.

Route 3 Westbound
(Update) Sunday ˗˗ Friday, 10 p.m. ˗˗ 9 a.m. Expect alternating, single lane closures on Route 3 westbound near the interchange.

Interstate 95 at Exit 118/Mudd Tavern Road Widening and Bridge Replacement Project

Crews are working to improve the interchange on Interstate 95 at Exit 118 (Mudd Tavern Road). The project will build a new I-95 overpass and improve on and off-ramps on Mudd Tavern Road, improve Mudd Tavern Road east of I-95, and Mallard Road.

Interstate 95 Southbound at Exit 118
(New) Monday – Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Expect a single, left lane on I-95 southbound to be closed near the interchange for construction activities. Expect brief delays.
(New) Monday – Thursday, 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. and Friday, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. Expect the left- turn lane to be closed at the southbound off-ramp to Mudd Tavern Road. Flaggers will direct drivers looking to make a left turn onto Mudd Tavern Road from southbound I-95.

Interstate 95 Northbound at Exit 118
(Update) Monday – Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Expect a single, left lane on I-95 northbound closed at the interchange for construction activities. Expect brief delays. At Exit 118A, drivers should also be alert to crews and construction equipment along the shoulder of the off-ramp.

Route 606 (Mudd Tavern Road)
(Update) Monday – Thursday, 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. and Friday, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. Expect alternating, one-way traffic on Route 606 (Mudd Tavern Road) at the I-95 overpass for storm sewer installation. Flaggers will direct drivers through the work zone. Expect brief delays.

Mallard Road
Monday – Thursday, 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. and Friday, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. Expect alternating, one-way traffic on Mallard Road for storm sewer installation. Motorists should expect brief delays. Flaggers will direct drivers through the work zone.

Stafford County Work Zones

Route 1 (Jefferson Davis Highway)
(New) Tuesday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. Expect alternating, single lane closures on Route 1 southbound near the Stafford Wayside exit for guardrail repair. Flaggers will alternate, one-way traffic through the work zone. Expect brief delays.

Route 651 (Kellogg Mill Road)
(New) Monday, 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. Expect alternating, one-way traffic on Route 651 (Kellogg Mill Road) at the bridge over Potomac Run for bridge repairs. Flaggers will direct traffic over the bridge. Expect brief delays at the bridge approaches.

Routine Maintenance
Monday − Friday, 6 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Stay alert for mobile lane closures. Crews will perform routine maintenance activities at the following locations:

Route 641 (Onville Road) – ditch cleaning
Route 1460 (Settlers Way) – ditch cleaning

City of Fredericksburg Work Zone

Route 1
(New) Monday ˗˗ Friday, 10 p.m. ˗˗ 5 a.m. Expect alternating, single lane closures on southbound Route 1 near Wallace Street for traffic engineering work. Expect brief delays.

Chatham Bridge
(New) Tuesday ˗˗ Wednesday, 8 p.m. ˗˗ 5 a.m. Expect alternating, single lane closures on the Chatham Bridge (Route 3 Business) over the Rappahannock River for bridge repairs. Expect brief delays.

Spotsylvania County Work Zone

Route 2 (Tidewater Trail)
(New) Monday ˗˗ Friday, 9 a.m. ˗˗ 3:30 p.m. Expect alternating, single lane closures on Route 2 (Tidewater Trail) from Nottingham Drive to Harry Lee Drive for utility and permit work. Expect brief delays.

Route 3 (Plank Road)
(New) Monday ˗˗ Friday, 9 p.m. ˗˗5 a.m. Expect alternating, single lane closures on eastbound Route 3 (Plank Road) near Taskforce Drive for a sewer line replacement project. This is a Spotsylvania County project. Expect overnight delays.

Route 608 (Benchmark Road) CLOSED
(Update) As of Monday, Feb. 19, Benchmark Road is closed to through traffic between Route 17 and Mine Road. The road will remain closed for approximately four months to replace three deteriorated drainage pipes. Drivers are encouraged to use the recommended detour of Route 2 (Tidewater Trail) and Route 17 (Mills Drive).

Route 609 (Jim Morris Road)
(Update) Monday – Thursday, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Expect alternating, one-way traffic on Route 609 (Jim Morris Road) between Route 17 (Mills Drive) and Wheatland Woods Drive for pipe work. Access to driveways will be maintained for residents who live in this section of Jim Morris Road. Flaggers will direct traffic through the work zone. Expect brief delays.

Gardenia Drive
(Update) Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Expect alternating, one-way traffic on Gardenia Drive between Daisey Lane and Lily Lane. Access to driveways will be maintained for residents who live in this section of Gardenia Drive. Flaggers will direct traffic through the work zone. Expect brief delays.

Routine Maintenance
Monday − Friday, 6 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Stay alert for mobile lane closures. Crews will perform routine maintenance activities at the following locations:

Route 610 (Elys Ford Road) – pavement repair
Route 625 (Ashby Road) – pavement repair
Route 658 (Mt. Olive Road) – pothole patching
Route 662 (Log Cabin Road) – pothole patching

Caroline County Work Zones

Route 301
(Update) Tuesday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Expect alternating, single lane closures on Route 301 near Route 1204 (Courthouse Lane) for guardrail repairs. Flaggers will direct drivers through the work zone. Expect brief delays.

Route 606 (Stonewall Jackson Road)
(New) Tuesday, 7 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Expect alternating, single lane closures on Route 606 (Stonewall Jackson Road) near Edgehill Academy Road at the bridge over the Mattaponi River. Crews will be performing a bridge safety inspection. Expect brief delays at the bridge approaches.

Route 17 (George Washington Memorial Highway)
(New) Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Expect a single, left lane to be closed on Route 17 southbound from Ernest Lane to Mid County Drive for roadway improvements. Expect brief delays near the work zones.

King George County Work Zone

Route 3 (Kings Highway)
(New) Tuesday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Expect alternating, single lane closures on Route 3 eastbound near Route 628 (Stoney Knoll Road) for guardrail repairs. Flaggers will direct drivers through the work zone. Expect brief delays.

Route 301 (James Madison Parkway)
(New) Wednesday, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Expect alternating, single lane closures on Route 301 (James Madison Parkway) at Potomac Drive to allow crews to take soil samples near the intersection. Expect brief delays.

King William County Work Zone

Route 601 (Calno Road)
(New) Tuesday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Expect alternating, single lane closures on northbound Route 601 (Calno Road) near Route 30 (King William Road) for guardrail repairs. Flaggers will direct drivers through the work zone. Expect brief delays.

Lancaster County/Middlesex County Work Zone

Route 3 and Robert O. Norris Bridge
Temporary traffic signals are installed at the center spans of the Norris Bridge on Route 3 between Lancaster and Middlesex counties. Two temporary signals control one-way, alternating traffic at the bridge’s center spans 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Crews are using the closed lane to paint the center spans of the bridge over the Rappahannock River. The signals will remain in place until the end of the painting project in June 2018.
Richmond County Work Zone

Route 3 (Historyland Highway) Business
(New) Wednesday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Expect alternating, single lane closures on Route 3 Business (Historyland Highway) near Belle Ville Lane for roadway improvements. Flaggers will direct drivers through the work zone. Expect brief delays.

Route 3 at Route 608 (Farnham Creek Road)
Monday˗˗ Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Route 3 will be reduced to a single lane just west of the intersection with Route 608 (Farnham Creek Road) for an emergency pipe rehabilitation project over Laton’s Swamp. One-way, alternating traffic will be directed through the work zone. Expect brief delays. Project completion is May 29, 2018.
