Police arrest man sought in aggravated assault

James Leon Brown was taken into custody by the King George County Sheriff’s Office yesterday, April 2nd. He is currently being held at Rappahannock Regional Jail.

The Fredericksburg Police Department was looking for Brown after an aggravated assault that left one victim with broken bones and requiring hospitalization.

The Fredericksburg E-911 Communications Center received a call Sunday, April 1st at approximately 8:15 a.m. that an adult female had been assaulted in her apartment located in the 1000 block of Heritage Park Drive. Patrol officers responded and, upon locating the adult female victim, determined she needed medical treatment. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital and remains in critical condition.

Patrol officers also located a juvenile victim who required medical attention for non-life threatening injuries. The juvenile was released from the hospital the same day.
