The search is on for the top leader of Stafford County Public Schools. SCPS is looking for an engaged and innovative leader who is willing to make a long-term commitment to Stafford County, its 28,650 students and 3,800 school staff.

Stafford County is the fifth fastest growing county in the Commonwealth of Virginia and has the fourth highest student population. SCPS has a track record of excellence and is seeking a new leader to continue that history of excellence and lead the students and staff into the future.

SCPS serves a diverse and mobile population. Students represent 110 countries of birth and speak 60 languages. A significant percent of the student population have parents with military or governmental jobs. SCPS is one of the largest school division in the Commonwealth of Virginia with all of its schools fully accredited. The school system is comprised of 17 elementary schools, 8 middle schools and 5 high schools. The School Board hopes to select a dynamic leader this summer to join the division by October 1.

The ability to be a licensed superintendent in Virginia is required. The Stafford School Board is committed to a transparent hiring process for the superintendent position.
