Fredericksburg City Council is holding a work session at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, 2017, to discuss council’s vision and priorities.

The meeting, which is open to the public, will be held at Executive Plaza, 601 Caroline St., in the third floor training center.

City Council developed a working draft of a vision during their two-day retreat in October.

The “desired future states” of Fredericksburg were outlined by eight headings:
1- Employment epicenter
2- Building community through cultural vibrancy
3- Learning is a way of life
4- Distinct and linked neighborhoods
5- Cutting edge transportation solutions
6- A proven leader in historic preservation
7- Green, clean environment
8- Public services (the backbone of any community)
