City Invites Input on Neighborhood-Level Long Range Plans

by | Nov 13, 2016 | Government

From the City of Fredericksburg planning staff

The City of Fredericksburg planning staff continues to work with a consulting firm called Streetsense to develop neighborhood-level long range plans. Streetsense is currently engaged in a market analysis of the following areas:

Planning Area 3 – encompassing the State Route 3 corridor between I-95 and Jefferson Davis Highway, and including the neighborhoods north and south of that roadway.

Planning Area 6 – including the residential and commercial areas along Fall Hill Avenue, Washington Avenue, Princess Anne Street, and Jefferson Davis Highway, in the area bounded by the Rappahannock River and the Rappahannock Canal.

This process is ongoing and citizen comments are always welcome. If you have thoughts or ideas about the physical aspects of these areas, please let us know. What problems do you encounter with traffic? What do you like about your neighborhood? What would you like to see change?

A presentation of the market analysis will be made in September 2016, for which we will provide notice. In the meantime, if you want to pass on any thoughts to Streetsense, a dedicated mailbox has been set up at [email protected]. You can also contact Erik Nelson at [email protected] or 540-372-1179.
