Grand Slam Nationals Karate Tournament
Friday, April 17, 12 – 11 p.m.
Saturday, April 18, 7:30 a.m. – 11 p.m.
Meadow Event Park, 13111 Dawn Blvd., Doswell, Va. (In the Farm Bureau Center – A Side)
This national sport karate tournament features world champions from all over North America competing in fighting forms, weapons, breaking and self defense.
Admission is $15-$30 for spectators.

Remembrance Days: Culpeper’s Living History

A weekend of programs, demonstrations, and activities commemorating and celebrating Culpeper’s rich history.

Wings and Wheels of Culpeper Vintage Car and Aircraft Show
Saturday, April 18, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. — Rain or shine
Culpeper Regional Airport, 12517 Beverly Ford Rd., Brandy Station, Va.
Tour classic cars alongside vintage aircraft from the WWII, Korea and Vietnam eras. Enjoy food, flybys, airplanes rides and unique photo opportunities.
Registration is $15 at the gate for show vehicles. Free for spectators.

Fredericksburg Earth Day Festival

Enjoy dozens of environmental exhibitors, live music, food, birds of prey, and hands-on activities.

Craft beer, live music, food and fun.
$30 advance, $40 at the gate, designated drivers age 16+ are $10, kids age 15 and under are free.

Going In-Seine at Westmoreland State Park
Saturday, April 18, 1 – 2 p.m.
Westmoreland State Park, 1650 State Park Rd., Montross, Va.
Learn how to seine, then search for aquatic insects and other invertebrates in the Potomac River. Meet the interpreter at the boat house.

Montpelier Working Woods Walk
Sunday, April 19, 2 p.m.
James Madison’s Montpelier, 11407 Constitution Hwy., Montpelier Station, Va.
Venture deep into the Montpelier Demonstration Forest on a two-hour hike guided by experts in forest conservation.
$10/person or $5/person with purchase of a mansion ticket. This guided tour begins at the Visitor Center. Dogs on leashes are permitted.

St. George’s Chamber Music Concert
Sunday, April 19, 3 p.m.
St. George’s Episcopal Church, 905 Princess Anne St., Fredericksburg,
“Trios and More,” featuring members of the St. George Chamber Orchestra playing the music of Beethoven, Mozart, Hovhaness, Pleyel, and Copland.
