FoodE General Manager Beth Black and Executive Chef Joy Crump announced today on Facebook a new restaurant soon to open in downtown Fredericksburg. Mercantile will be located at 205 William St. Here’s what they had to say.

“We want to change up the game at Mercantile; we want to treat you to traditional table-side service with a top notch staff in a setting we designed with care (thanks, Spaces Design Studio!). The philosophy about the food remains the same – locally sourced, all-natural and organic.

“We’ll be open seven days a week from 7am until 3pm. At night, we’ll offer up Mercantile as a private event space and we’ll hold special pop up dinners with guest chefs. And once we get our ABC license (beer, wine & mixed drinks), well, who knows what else will happen.

“Your advice and feedback over these past five years have helped us more than you can possibly imagine. And our commitment to the community is stronger than ever. Thank you so much for giving us the courage to try something new.

“Keep telling us what you think…we’ll keep listening!

The opening date is to be determined.
