Good Earth Turn Company held a ribbon cutting at its Fredericksburg Farmers Market stall August 1, 2015.

The local green startup sells locally made soil conditioner and will take your food scraps to compost, if you don’t or can’t do that at home.

“Good Turn Earth Company is changing the landscape in Fredericksburg – literally,” said owner Sarah Perry. “Our local startup is committed to rescuing green waste from the landfill and transforming it into a living, breathing soil conditioner that produces strong and healthy plants.”

With local partners including Wegmans, 25 30 Espresso, Earth Mother Mushrooms and Fredericksburg City Public Works, Good Turn Earth Company produces a premium organic soil conditioner composed of city leaves, coffee grounds, out-of-date produce, mushroom compost and worm castings.

Good Turn Earth Company, formerly Living Soil, was a 2014 Startup Weekend Fredericksburg and Made in FredVA finalist. The company was featured on “Foodtank” at “A Startup Weekend Success Plans to Employ the Neighborhood and Feed the City.”
