Living so close to Washington D.C. provides a great opportunity to experience the Fourth of July in our nation’s capital. Don’t let thoughts of traffic and crowds scare you away. Review these guidelines and directions from the National Park Service, and then be on your way for a great day.

The 2015 National Mall Fourth of July Celebration Schedule of Activities

Smithsonian Folklife Festival
11 a.m – 5:30 p.m. between 3rd and 4th Street NW on the Mall.

Independence Day Parade
11:45 a.m. – 2 p.m. Along Constitution Avenue from 7th to 17th Streets NW

Interpreters in Period Dress
2 – 8 p.m. Join Interpreters in period dress at the Jefferson Memorial to learn more about the birth of our nation and sign the Declaration of Independence.

Sylvan Theater Stage Concert
6 – 9 p.m. U.S. Air Force Max Impact Band at the Sylvan Theater (Washington Monument Grounds)

A Capitol Fourth Concert
8 – 9:30 p.m. A Capitol Fourth concert at U.S. Capitol west lawn.
