The owners of La Petite Auberge have announced plans for a second restaurant in Fredericksburg.

“We are excited to officially announce we will be opening a new restaurant called Legume Kitchen & Bar on Caroline Street early this September,” owners Raymond and Jessica Chenault wrote on Facebook. While not a strictly vegetarian restaurant, Legume will feature vegan, vegetarian and seafood dishes.

The husband and wife duo have teamed up with chef Justin Cunningham, who owned Fizzlebottom’s Cafe before joining Spencer Devon Brewing when it opened in 2015.

“Justin has been with me from the beginning and I certainly will miss him, but I know he struggled with this decision and made it only after much consideration for what is best for his family, his career and his craft,” wrote Spencer Devon Brewing owner Shawn Phillips on Facebook.

Legume Kitchen & Bar will be located at 715 Caroline St., in the former location of The Blarney Stone, which closed at the end of June 2016.
