Obituaries: Doreen Messer Phillips, Stafford County School Board

Doreen Messer Phillips, Stafford County School Board Representative and local real estate broker, died August 15, in Richmond, Va.  She had battled hepatitis for 37 years and succumbed to the liver disease.  She was 50.
Doreen was twice elected as the Hartwood representative to the Stafford County School Board.
Doreen was the broker and proprietor of the Phillips Home Selling Team and Phillips Property Management Services in Fredericksburg.  At the time of her death, she was a contractor at the Marine Corps Network Operations and Security Center in Quantico, Va.

Frederick Maurice Leppo, 78, of Fredericksburg died  Friday, Aug. 29, at Mary Washington Hospital from a lengthy illness.
Edith Grey Howard, 72, of Fredericksburg passed away Friday, Aug. 29, 2014 at Mary Washington Hospital.
Sandra Elizabeth Kipps, 71, of Stafford County died Thursday, Aug. 28, at her home.
Bobby Ray Boatwright, 73, of Fredericksburg died Thursday, Aug. 28, at VCU Hospital.
Marianne Paula Taormina, 60, of Spotsylvania County died Friday, Aug. 29, at her home.
Christopher Lee Ford, 68, of Fredericksburg died peacefully Wednesday, Aug. 27, surrounded by family and friends.
Avis M. Williams, 91 of Bowling Green, formerly of Spotsylvania, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 26, at her home.
Eddie James Smith Jr., 74, of Fredericksburg, died Sunday, Aug. 24.
Thomas James Wintermyer Sr, 79, of Spotsylvania County, passed away Friday, Aug. 22,  at his home.  Mr. Wintermyer served four years in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War.  He had retired from the National Park Service after 27 years of service.
Edward G. Thornton, III, 98, of Fredericksburg died Tuesday, Aug. 19.
Margie B. Herndon, 74, of Fredericksburg, passed away Saturday, Aug. 23, at home.
Phyliss Mae Silva, 72, of Fredericksburg, passed away Friday, Aug. 22, at Mary Washington Hospital surrounded by her family and friends.
Ruby B. Webster, 81 of Fredericksburg, formerly of Marion, S.C., passed away Friday, Aug. 22, at Carriage Hill Health and Rehab Center in Fredericksburg.
Ralph Daniel Seaton, 73, of Spotsylvania County, passed away Thursday, Aug. 21, at his home.
Mark Blaine Toombs, 48, of Montpelier, passed Tuesday, Aug. 19, at Parham Doctors’ Hospital. Mr. Toombs was a 1984 graduate of Spotsylvania High School and a U. S. Air Force veteran.
Lt. Col. Floyd C. Williams USAF (Ret), 84 of Stafford County, passed away Aug. 18, at his home with his wife by his side.
Charles Alvin Mundie Jr., 67, of Fredericksburg died Tuesday, Aug. 19, at Mary Washington Hospital.
Doris H. Nowell, 91, of Fredericksburg, formerly of Woodbridge, Va., died Monday, Aug. 18, at Lake Anna Elder Care in Louisa County.
Jean Truslow Nicholls, 71, of Fredericksburg, died on Monday morning, Aug. 18, with her husband by her side.
Colonel Mark H. Triplett, USMC (Ret), 57, of Stafford County, passed away August 15, at Mary Washington Hospital.
