From Rappahannock United Way:

Rappahannock United Way’s 2020 Annual Workplace Campaign Kickoff was one to remember! The entire celebration was done virtually over the course of a week, in order to protect against the spread of COVID-19.

This Virtual Kickoff marks the start of Rappahannock United Way’s annual fundraising effort and gives the organization an opportunity to thank local companies, donors and volunteers for their generosity and commitment to our community. In attendance over the course of the week were Rappahannock United Way’s Board of Directors, local government leaders, donors, business and community leaders, volunteers, and nonprofit leadership.

“Campaign looks a little different this year, but it is more important than ever. The ongoing economic effects of COVID-19 are being felt here in the Fredericksburg Area, particularly in our ALICE® community.  We are proud and encouraged to have the continued support of our community leaders and business partners,” said Ann Jones, Director of Resource Development. “We are grateful for the opportunity to connect virtually with local businesses to discuss the needs of our community. We look forward to serving alongside the men and women who lead and live in the Greater Fredericksburg Area.”

Rappahannock United Way’s Annual Workplace Campaign is a vital part of the organization’s work. Current Rappahannock United Way programs funded by this Campaign include Rent and Mortgage Assistance, Free Financial Coaching, Free Tax Services (The largest in the area), The ALICE Assistance Fund, Mission: Independence, grants to local member agencies and FamilyWize prescription assistance.
