The Riverfront Task Force is hosting a public meeting from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday, March 8, to update citizens on the status of Riverfront Park and garner design ideas.

The City of Fredericksburg acquired the former Masonic Lodge riverfront property at 609 Sophia Street in 2011.  The land acquisition increased the amount of contiguous city-owned land along the Rappahannock River.  The Riverfront Task Force was established to guide the design process for a public park on this land.

The March 8 meeting will be held at Courtyard Marriott Fredericksburg Historic District, 620 Caroline St.  A second public meeting is being planned for late April or early May.

Citizens may also submit Riverfront Park comments and suggestions using the city’s comment form
