Parts one and two of the seven-part series will premier at Paragon Village 12, 51 Towne Centre Blvd, as part of the FredXchange one-year birthday bash.  Associate Producer Maxim Wheatley will speak.

The 5 – 9 p.m. celebration is free, but film seating is limited.  Reservations may be made online at Eventbrite.

“It’s been a huge year for the growth of Fredericksburg’s startup community, which is why we’re throwing a one-year birthday party for FredXchange,”  said Matt Armstrong, founder of FredXchange, whose mission is to establish a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem in the region by the year 2020.

“It’s perfect to celebrate by participating in the world premier of ‘startupland,’ the exclusive documentary series co-produced by our good friend Jonathon Perrelli. It will be a night filled with good friends and good times.”

startupland is described as part education, part entertainment by its creators Jonathon Perrelli, managing director of Fortify Ventures, and Justin Gutwein.  It’s real life, not Hollywood. “We are bringing the accelerator experience to the screen to empower and inspire the next innovators,” they said on Twitter @startup_land.

The documentary follows five D.C. early-stage tech company entrepreneurs. They are Elise Whang of SnobSwap, Dave Aidekman of Trip Tribe, Aneet Makin of (Leg)Cyte, JD Chang of TrendPo and Marty Bauer of RidePost.  Interspersed with their stories are interviews with seasoned entrepreneurs including Steve Case, co-founder of AOL, and Esther Dyson, chairman of EDventure.

Inc. Magazine named “Startupland” the “#1 Must Watch Documentary for Entrepreneurs.”

The FredXchange birthday bash will include food.  It will be BYOB – buy your own beverage.
