A Century at Belmont

Celebrate the centennial of the Melchers’ purchase of Belmont with $1 admission.

Howlin’ Coyote 10K Trail Race and WIly Pup Kids Trail Dash
Saturday, Oct. 1, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Caledon State Park, 11617 Caledon Rd., King George, Va. 22485
The course takes runners through the shaded park trails and past the Potomac river. Walkers are welcome. This is a dog friendly race. Awards will be given to the top three over all finishers male and female and to the top male and female in each age group. Finishers coins will be awarded. The Wiley Pup Kids Trial Dash fun run is for children ages 5-13. Parents are encouraged to join the pups on the run or to serve as course marshals. Every child participating gets a finisher ribbon. Cold beverages and chili provided after the races.

Fredericksburg & Spotsylvania National Military Park Fit History Hike
Saturday,, Oct. 1, 10 a.m.
Chancellorsville: Hazel Grove and Fairview (2.5 miles, round-trip)
Join historian Peter Maugle to walk the ground of the bloody but crucial fighting on the morning of May 3, 1863. Meet at Hazel Grove, Stop #9 on the Chancellorsville Battlefield.

Walnut Hills UPC Fall Festival

Capital Ale House Oktoberfest
Saturday, Oct. 1, 10:30 a.m. – 10 p.m.
Capital Ale House Fredericksburg, 917 Caroline St, and the street out front in downtown Fredericksburg.
Spend the day enjoying live music, German dancing and over 100 craft and imported brews.
Live music and entertainment: 12 Noon, Low N Brows; 3:30 p.m. Johnny Koenig; 7:30 p.m., Fritz Polka Band; throughout the day, The Hirschjäger Dancers.
$3 admission, with proceeds benefitting Fredericksburg Main Street.

Paws & Whiskers Bazaar presented by Fredericksburg Parks and Recreation

Stafford Fall Family Festival and Great Pumpkin Derby
Saturday, Oct. 1, 11 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Artisans and crafters, hay rides, inflatables, festival food, children’s activities, annual Pumpkin Derby, and musical entertainment.
$10 per vehicle.

Fredericksburg’s Fall Fairy Festival
Saturday, Oct. 1, 12 – 5 p.m.
Old Mill Park, 2410 Caroline St. Fredericksburg.
Calling all Fairies, Wizards, Gnomes, Gobblins, Trolls, and Elves for face painting, unicorn rides, princess carriage, and many fairy games.
Proceeds benefit the Fairy Godmother Project.
$10 per adult, $5 per child

Culpeper Harvest Days Farm Tour
Saturday, Oct. 1, and Sunday, Oct. 2, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Begin your tour at Culpeper Agricultural Enterprises, 10220 James Monroe Hwy, (Route 29), Culpeper, Va. 22701
Visit 15 farms highlighting agricultural in Culpeper. There is no charge for entry into any of the farms on the tour, and most of the activities and demonstrations are free. Some of the farms are offering additional concessions, crafts, gift items, amusements, or products for sale. Some of the food sales benefit charity. The farm tour will take place rain or shine. Some activities and individual farms may be closed due to inclement weather.
Free admission.

Fall Opening of St. James’ House
This is a week-long event — Monday, Oct. 3, through Saturday, Oct. 8, 1 – 4 p.m.
