The second annual Eagle Nation Day will be hosted by the University of Mary Washington Athletics department beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 6.  It will be held at the Battleground Athletic Complex off Hanover Street and on the UMW campus in Fredericksburg.  The first 500 children and youth will receive a free t-shirt.

Family friendly activities will include an interactive exhibit by the Children’s Museum, water balloon games, moon bounce, horse and pony rides and an inflatable obstacle course and slide.  The children’s movie “Brave”  will be shown at 10:30 a.m. on a large screen.

UMW Women’s Soccer begins at 12:30 p.m. and UMW Field Hockey’s new bleacher ceremony is at 3 p.m.

B101.5 will broadcast live from Eagle Nation Day.  Food will be available for purchase from the Sodexo Food Truck.  Everyone is encouraged to wear Eagle colors — gray and navy blue.

The one-day free carnival began in 2013 as a vision to connect Mary Washington student-athletes with children and youth from the surrounding area.

The event is co-sponsored by Fredericksburg Field House, B101.5, Paragon Village and Splitsville, Children’s Museum of Richmond-Fredericksburg, and SweetFrog. For more information call 540-654-1153.
