VDOT Traffic Alerts January 29 – February 4

VDOT hot spots in Fredericksburg, Stafford, Spotsylvania, Caroline, and King George for January 29 – February 4, 2017.

City of Fredericksburg
Mary Washington Boulevard
Monday − Thursday, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. and Friday, 9 a.m. – noon. Motorists should expect intermittent lane closures between Hospital Drive and Sam Perry Boulevard as part of the Fall Hill Avenue widening project. Motorists should stay alert for ongoing work in the median with crews working to install new curb and paving.

Fall Hill Avenue
Monday − Thursday, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. and Friday, 9 a.m. – noon. Motorists should expect intermittent lane closures on Fall Hill Avenue between Carl D. Silver Parkway and the Rappahannock Canal for construction activity. Flaggers will direct motorists through the work zone.

Stafford County
Route 1 at Falmouth Bridge
(New) Sunday ˗˗ Thursday, 9 p.m. ˗˗ 6 a.m. Traffic on northbound and southbound Route 1 at the Falmouth Bridge will be reduced to one lane each evening for bridge deck repairs. Motorists should expect brief delays. All lanes will be open to traffic by 6 a.m.

Route 610 (Garrisonville Road)
(New) Sunday, 8 p.m. ˗˗ 5 a.m. A single eastbound lane of Route 610 near Onville Road will be closed as crews install a large, drainage structure in the median. Expect brief overnight delays. All travel lanes will be open by 5 a.m. Monday.

Route 630 (Courthouse Road) at Ramoth Church Road
(New) Sunday ˗˗ Saturday, 10 p.m. ˗˗ 5 a.m. Motorists can anticipate intermittent single lane closures, shoulder closures and a mobile work zone on Route 630 (Courthouse Road) between Ramoth Church Road and Cedar Lane. Crews will be taking soil samples as part of the Courthouse Road widening project. Expect brief overnight travel delays.

Route 630 (Courthouse Road) at Monument Drive
(New) Tuesday, 9 p.m. ˗˗ 5:30 a.m. Traffic will be down to one lane on Route 630 (Courthouse Road) between Lynhaven Lane and Monument Drive near the Augustine subdivision as crews remove a temporary drainage pipe underneath the road. Expect brief overnight delays. All travel lanes will be open by 5:30 a.m.

Routine Maintenance
Monday − Friday, 6 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Stay alert for mobile lane closures. Crews will perform routine maintenance activities at the following locations:
· Route 1 (Jefferson Davis Highway) – shoulder work
· Route 3 (Kings Highway) – shoulder work
· Route 218 (White Oak Road) – pipe repair
· Route 603 (Cassion Road) – shoulder work
· Route 605 (Camp Selden Road) – machine roadway
· Route 607 (Ferry Road) – ditching
· Route 624 (Morton Road) – shoulder work
· Route 655 (Holly Corner Road) – shoulder work
· Route 657 (Monroe Farms Road) – machine roadway
· Route 752 (Richards Ferry Road) – brush cutting, ditching
· Route 1264 (Parkway Boulevard) – pipe repair
· Route 1422 (Ryan Way) – shoulder work

Spotsylvania County
Route 620 (Harrison Road)
(New) Tuesday, 8 p.m. ˗˗ 5 a.m. Traffic will be periodically reduced to a single lane during a mobile work zone as crews remove the current traffic signal poles and install temporary traffic signals at the intersection. Motorists may encounter overnight delays prior to the intersection. Brief traffic stops, up to 15 minutes, may be needed between midnight and 2 a.m. Tuesday to perform work in the middle of the intersection. Virginia State Police will be at the intersection to help with traffic control and monitor traffic conditions.

Routine Maintenance
Monday − Friday, 6 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Stay alert for mobile lane closures. Crews will perform routine maintenance activities at the following locations:
· Route 17 (Mills Drive) – shoulder work
· Route 605 (Mayre Road) –patching
· Route 613 (Brock Road) – patching
· Route 614 (Dickerson Road) – patching
· Route 617 (Hams Ford Road) – patching
· Route 618 (River Road) – shoulder work
· Route 621 (Orange Plank) – patching
· Route 622 (Luck Road) – patching
· Route 643 (Williams Lane) – machine roadway
· Route 664 (Granite Springs Road) – machine roadway
· Route 674 (Chancellor Road) – shoulder work
· Route 702 (Curtis Road) – machine roadway

Caroline County
Routine Maintenance
Monday − Friday, 6 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Stay alert for mobile lane closures. Crews will perform routine maintenance activities at the following locations:
· Route 17 (Tidewater Trail) – tree trimming
· Route 207 (Rogers Clark Boulevard) – shoulder work
· Route 600 (Frog Level Road) – patching
· Route 614 (Ware Greek Road) – tree trimming
· Route 619 (Millford Street) – ditching
· Route 622 (Durrett Road) – grading roadway
· Route 625 (Passing Road) – patching
· Route 628 (Antioch Road) – patching
· Route 648 (Sunshine Road) – ditching
· Route 663 (Shumans Road) – ender
· Route 774 (Warnes Lane) – ditching

Caroline County/King George County
Route 301 at Rappahannock River
(New) Wednesday ˗˗ Thursday, 6 a.m. ˗˗ 4 p.m. Motorists should expect a single lane closure on Route 301 northbound and southbound at the bridge over the Rappahannock River for work related to the bridge rehabilitation project. Expect brief delays on the bridge and at the bridge approaches.
