VRE Public Hearings on Fare Increase

Virginia Railway Express (VRE) has scheduled seven public hearings, including one in Fredericksburg on March 5, to solicit comments about a proposed four percent fare increase and $2 increase to the Amtrak Step-Up ticket. If adopted, this change would become effective the first week of July 2015, to coincide with the start of the FY 2016 budget year, VRE staff said.

The public hearings are being conducted in locations accessible to persons with disabilities.
