Fredericksburg’s Zeppe Wins National Dog Show Title

by | Nov 27, 2014 | Sports

Zeppe, owned by Fredericksburg resident Andi Gabler, won Best in Breed at the National Dog Show, which airs on NBC Thanksgiving Day. Zeppe is a Spinone Italiano (or Italian Pointer), an all-purpose hunting dog known to be sociable and docile.

The win qualified Zeppe to compete with 28 other breeds in the show’s Sporting Group. “Under bright television lights, judges announcing, and cameramen walking in the ring, Zeppe kept his composure … looked great and had a good time,” wrote Ann Glave on Facebook.

Zeppe and his brother Enzo are the official greeters at The Schooler House Bed & Breakfast in downtown Fredericksburg.

Watch for Zeppe when the 2014 National Dog Show airs Thanksgiving Day at 12 p.m. (in all time zones) on NBC.
