Blue Star Mothers Veterans Day Care Package Drive

by | Nov 30, 2014 | Non-Profits

Blue Star Mothers of Fredericksburg VA4, an organization of women who all have children who have served in the military during a time of war, is collecting donations for care packages to be sent to 400 service people from every branch of the military who are deployed overseas.

“There are some troops that have no access to necessities,” said Blue Star Mom Linda Clevenger, who serves as vice president of the service organization. “The only items they receive are the items sent from home. There are still thousands of troops deployed who can use a care package.”

Blue Star Mothers of Fredericksburg, VA4 has received multiple requests from deployed units for help. “A total of 400 requests have been made and we would like to honor these requests by personally sending a care package to each military member,” Clevenger said. “In order to fulfill their requests, we need supplies and monetary donations. Monetary donations are the best way to help because the funds can be used to purchase items they need and mail the care packages.”
