Holiday Cards Fredericksburg Style

In a Fredericksburg.Today Reacht poll, 59 percent of respondents said they are sending snail-mail holiday cards this year, compared to 41 percent who are not.

For those who are, there are cards available by Fredericksburg artists.

Gari Melchers Home and Studio at Belmont has used Melchers’ “The Nativity” for a Christmas card. The circa 1891 oil on canvas is currently on display in the artist’s studio at Belmont, 224 Washington St., Falmouth The cards are available in the gift shop.

Artist Casey Alan Shaw’s “Folk Art Fredericksburg” Christmas cards are available in downtown Fredericksburg at Art First Gallery, the Fredericksburg Area Museum Cultural Center Museum Store, Ulman’s Jewelry, Goolrick’s Modern Pharmacy, Griffin Bookshop and The Made in Virginia Store. The Christmas card image is pictured at the bottom of Shaw’s December newsletter.

Hand-made holiday cards by Fredericksburg artists are also available at Water Street Studio Writing and Arts, 915 A Sophia St.
