Downtown Traffic, Parking Impacted by Paving Work

by | Dec 13, 2014 | Government

Asphalt milling and paving will impact traffic and parking in downtown Fredericksburg July 21 – 25, 2014.

The work will begin in the 700 block of Princess Anne Street on Monday and finish later in the week on Charlotte Street.  Areas affected include:

The 200 – 300 blocks of Charlotte Street.
The intersection of Caroline and Charlotte streets.

At least one lane of traffic will be maintained at all times on Princess Anne and Caroline Streets and 300 block of Charlotte Street, according to city staff. The 200 block of Charlotte Street may be closed to all traffic during the paving work.

Parking will be restricted within the areas to be paved, with signs posted to notify motorists of the restrictions. Parking will also be restricted in the 800 block of Princess Anne Street for staging of trucks.

Motorists should anticipate traffic delays near the courthouse during the paving work and may want to consider an alternate route around the work zones, city staff said.
