Explore Spring Beauty Along the Rappahannock River

by | Dec 13, 2014 | Around Town

Join University of Mary Washington Biology professors Joella Killian and Michael Killian exploring the river trails and canal path along the Rappahannock River from 9:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. Saturday, April 19.

“Early spring is a great time for inspecting birds, plants, insects and all things natural along the Rappahannock fall line,” said Woodie Walker, Friends of the Rappahannock (FOR) community conservationist.  The fall line is the point at which the river becomes tidal.

Meet at the Friends of the Rappahannock headquarters, 3219 Fall Hill Ave., Fredericksburg.  The “Eagles, Beetles and Asters, Oh My!” hike costs $5 individual/$10 family ($4/$8 for FOR members).  Pre-register online.

In case of bad weather, the event will be held Sunday, April 20.

See the Friends of the Rappahannock 2014 Calendar for a complete list of their many events.
