Fall Plant Sale Hosted by Rappahannock Adult Activities

by | Dec 13, 2014 | Around Town

Rappahannock Adult Activities (RAAI) is hosting their third annual fall plant sale through October 3 at their 750 Kings Hwy. location in Fredericksburg.  Sale hours are 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.  Pansies, chrysanthemums and a limited selection of herbs are available.

RAAI participants are responsible for the initial planting, placing labels on the pots, daily watering and plant care. They will also be selling the plants and assisting to load the plants in customers’ vehicles.

“We are so appreciative of the continued community support for RAAI plant sales,” said Horticulture Specialist Melessa Suder.  “The participants enjoy caring for the plants, as well as interacting with customers during the sale.”

RAAI’s 750 Kings Hwy. location in Fredericksburg is located approximately three miles east of Chatham Bridge.

For more than 35 years, Rappahannock Adult Activities, Inc. has provided a community-based developmental day program that promotes dignity, independence, individualization, inclusion, and productivity of people with intellectual disabilities in their home communities. RAAI helps keep these individuals out of institutional settings and allows caregivers respite from care responsibilities. Proceeds from the plant sales provide scholarships to allow participants without funding the opportunity to attend RAAI.
