The rain has stopped but the National Weather Service has extended the flood warning until 11:30 a.m. May 1 for the Fredericksburg region.

Although many of the smaller streams have receded as water drains into the larger tributaries, some roads still remained closed due to flooding. Drivers should continue to use caution. “Flood waters are usually deeper than they appear, and just one foot of flowing water is powerful enough to sweep vehicles off the road,” the NWS said. “Turn around, don’t drown.”
There is a 40 percent chance of showers today, mainly after 11 a.m. It should be partly sunny, with a high near 74. Overnight is expected to be partly cloudy, with a low around 50.

Drying should continue Friday, with a partly sunny, high near 71 day expected.
