Fredericksburg Back-to-School Schedules, Events 2014-15

City of Fredericksburg students begin the 2014-15 school year on Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014.

Hugh Mercer Elementary School

Kindergarten and new student registration is 9 – 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 28.
Orientation for first and second graders is 9 – 11 a.m. or 6 – 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28.
Orientation for kindergarten students is 1 – 3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28.
The first PTA meeting is 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10.
Back-to-School Night is 5:30 – 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25

Layfayette Upper Elementary School (LUES)

Orientation is 2 – 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27.  Homeroom assignments will be posted at this time.
Back-to-School Night is 6 – 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 16.
The first PTA meeting is 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24.

Walker Grant Middle School

Sixth grade orientation is 4 – 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27.
Open orientation for all students is 5 – 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27.
The fall athletic rules session is 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9.
Back-to-School Night is 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17.
Sixth Grade Success session for parents is at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24.

James Monroe High School

Open House and Fee Night is 4 – 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28.  This event provides parents and students the opportunity to pay class dues and course fees, to pick up student schedules and Parent Portal information, to join the PTSA, and to visit briefly with teachers.
PTSA meetings will be held from 6 – 7 p.m. the first Wednesday of each month during the school year except September, December and June.
