Fredericskburg Election Results: Duffy Wins, Frye Leads

Tim Duffy has won the Ward 3 seat for Fredericksburg City Council, with 371 votes (71.07 percent) to Richard Friesner’s 151 votes (28.93 percent), according to the Virginia Board of Elections.  There were a total of 522 votes cast.

Chuck Frye, Jr. leads in Ward 4, with 318 votes (51.29 percent) over Bea Paolucci, who has 300 votes (48.39 percent).  The winner will not be officially named until after a canvas of all votes in the City of Fredericksburg voter registrar’s office at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 7.  There were two write-in votes, bringing the total number of votes cast in the Ward 4 race to 620.

All other contestants were unopposed in their races.  Election results are listed below, with the number of votes cast.

City Council Ward 1
Brad Ellis will continue his tenure on City Council.  He received 135 votes.  There were five write-in votes for a total of 140 votes cast.

City Council Ward 2
Billy Withers received 299 votes.  There were five write-in votes, bringing the total number of votes cast to 304.

School Board Ward 1
Elizabeth Rehm received 126 votes.  There were four write-in votes, bringing the total number of votes cast to 130.

School Board Ward 2
Barbara Miller-Richards received 283 votes.  There were three write-in votes.  The total number of votes cast was 286.

School Board Ward 3
Jannan Holmes received 428 votes, the total number of votes cast.

School Board Ward 4
Malvina Rollins Kay received 504 votes.  There were 15 write-in votes.  The total number of votes cast was 519.
