Volunteers worked with Tree Fredericksburg on April 26.  The nonprofit headed by Anne and Carl Little is dedicated to restoring the urban canopy in Fredericksburg.  Since its founding in 2008, Tree Fredericksburg has planted and maintained some 3,500 trees in the city.

The City of Fredericksburg is the largest donor to Tree Fredericksburg, having given more than $65,000 to purchase trees and equipment, according to Anne.

On Saturday, the trees planted by volunteers included Elms, Redbuds, Willows, Trident Maples, Swamp White Oaks and various varieties of cherry trees.
