Law Enforcement United’s (LEU) “The Road to Hope” will travel through Fredericksburg on Sunday, May 11.  The annual memorial bicycle ride is a kickoff event for National Police Week.

“Law Enforcement United riders will have a brief stop at Fredericksburg Police Department headquarters at about 2 p.m. before continuing north on Route 1 into Stafford County,” said Natatia Bledsoe, Fredericksburg Police Department public information officer.

Motorists should expect to see brief “rolling roadblocks” as the riders make their way through the area, traveling from Chesapeake, Va., to Washington, D.C.

Riders make the journey to honor the service and sacrifice of their law enforcement colleagues and family members who have died in the line of duty.
