An exhibition of new works by popular Fredericksburg-area artist Ed King is the featured show at Art First Gallery from Tuesday, July 29, through Sunday, Aug. 31, 2014. A reception celebrating the exhibit will be held during the August 1 First Friday Art Walk from 6 – 9 p.m.
The award-winning Ed King is a local fixture on the art scene. In addition to his long association with Art First, Ed teaches painting at Germanna Community College and maintains studio space at LibertyTown Arts Workshop.
Raven by Ed King.
King started his career as a sculptor, and that legacy is still visible in his strong, almost carved, brush strokes. Local collectors snap up his paintings of the Rappahannock River and animal subjects, which are especially close to his heart.
Art First Gallery, located at 824 Caroline St., is open daily from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Take this opportunity to enjoy the abundance of great art created by Fredericksburg-area artists. In addition to the featured artist, you’ll also find art displayed by more than thirty other gallery members.
