by | Dec 13, 2014 | Around Town

Passover (Hebrew: פֶּסַח Pesach), one of the most widely observed Jewish holidays, begins at sundown on Monday, April 14, 2014.

Beth Sholom Temple Fredericksburg Virginia will host a community Passover Seder on Saturday, April 19, in the Temple social hall, 809 Lyons Blvd., Fredericksburg.  Reservations for the catered event closed April 10, but if you’re interested, contact Fern in the Temple office at [email protected] or 540-373-4834.

Passover commemorates the story of the Exodus, in which the ancient Israelites were freed from slavery in Egypt. It begins each year on the 15th day of the month of Nisan in the Jewish calendar, which is in spring in the Northern Hemisphere.  It is celebrated for seven or eight days.

Beth Sholom’s Facebook page includes information for celebrating Passover, including recipes, activities and special events.

How will you celebrate Passover?
