Run for the River and Moonlight Paddle

Two upcoming events will highlight the beauty of the Rappahannock River and benefit Friends of the Rappahannock (FOR).

Run for the River! by FredEvents
7:45 a.m. Sunday, June 22, at Old Mill Park, 2410 Caroline St, Fredericksburg.
This four-mile run/walk is perfect for both competitive racers and those who prefer to set a more leisurely pace.  The mostly paved course travels along the Rappahannock River and the historic Fredericksburg Canal. The event is sponsored by The Pool Company and VA Runner.  A portion of the race fees will be donated to Friends of the Rappahannock.

Moonlight Paddle on the Rappahannock
7:30 – 10:30 p.m. Friday, July 11, from Old Mill Park to City Dock
Join veteran FOR volunteer Michelle McGinley for a first-class Friday night float, filled with fireflies, fun and fascinating natural history. Minimum age is 12 years and some paddling experience is helpful. Meet at Old Mill Park, 2410 Caroline St, Fredericksburg.
The backup date is Saturday, July 12.  Cost is $35 individual or $105 family ($28/$84 for FOR members).  Pre-register at www.riverfriends.org
