Six Weekend Events in the Fredericksburg Area

Our weekend weather is predicted to be summer perfect, with partly sunny skies and temperatures in the mid 80s.  Take advantage of these six special events in the region June 20 – 22, 2014.

Fredericksburg Parks and Recreation Photography Show
4 – 7 p.m. Friday
10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Saturday
12 – 4 p.m. Sunday
at the Dorothy Hart Community Center, 408 Canal St., Fredericksburg.
Free.

The Working Effective at the Sounds of Summer Concert Series
7 – 9 p.m. Friday in Market Square, 907 Princess Anne St., Fredericksburg.
Free.

Children’s Program at the Fredericksburg National Cemetery
11 a.m. Saturday at 1013 Lafayette Blvd, Fredericksburg.
Explore and discover the stories hidden behind the brick walls of the cemetery and of the soldiers buried there.  Recommended for ages 6 – 12.
Free.

History at Sunset: Building the Mule Shoe Salient, a presentation by Beth Parnicza and Eric Mink.
7 p.m. Saturday
Meet at the end of Anderson Drive, Spotsylvania Court House Battlefield.
Free.

Spotsylvania Stars & Stripes Spectacular
3 – 10 p.m. Saturday at the Spotsylvania Courthouse
Live music, activities, food and fireworks.
Free admission.

 

Hats, Heels and Ties Charity Event Benefitting Autism Research and Advocacy
12 – 4 p.m. Sunday at the Fredericksburg Expo and Conference Center, 2371 Carl D Silver Pkwy, Fredericksburg.
Motivational speakers, silent auction, raffles, vendors and more.
Tickets range from $5 – $30, and are available online or at the door.
