Street Closures for Sunday’s Historic Half

The three races of the Marine Corps Historic Half will impact traffic (map) in Fredericksburg, beginning at 5 a.m. on Sunday, May 18.  Each race begins at 7 a.m., in different locations. Roads will reopen as soon as the last runners pass each area of the courses.

The Marine Corps Historic Half starts adjacent to the Fredericksburg Expo & Conference Center, 2371 Carl D. Silver Pkwy.

The Historic 10K starts near the Quarles Petroleum Inc. parking lot at 1701 Fall Hill Ave.

The Semper Fred 5K begins at the Fredericksburg Shopping Center, located at the intersection of Route 1/Jefferson Davis Highway and Fall Hill Avenue.

Race-day shuttles will operate continuously from 6:45 to 10:15 a.m. to transport spectators from the Walmart parking lot in Central Park, 1800 Carl D Silver Pkwy., to the intersection of George and Prince Edward Streets, which is near mile seven of the Historic Half course in downtown Fredericksburg.

6:30 – 11 a.m.
Carl D. Silver Parkway northbound from Cowan Boulevard to Fall Hill Avenue

6:30 – 8 a.m.
Cowan Boulevard (eastbound) from Carl D. Silver Parkway to Keeneland Road

6:30- 8:05 a.m.
Woodland, Keeneland and Westwood Roads from Cowan Boulevard to Route 3

6:30- 8:10 a.m.
Route 3 (westbound lanes) from Westwood Road to William Street

6:30- 8:35 a.m.
William Street (westbound) from Blue/Gray Parkway to Sunken Road

6:30- 8:35 a.m.
