Summer Concert Kick-Off, Squadpalooza, Family Mud Run

A sunny, warm weekend is predicted for our area.  Temperatures are expected to reach 80 on Saturday and the high 70’s on Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

It’s great weather to be out and about.  Following are six family-friendly events in Fredericksburg May 30 and 31.
FRIDAY, May 30
Frog Walk
8:15 – 9:15 p.m. at Motts Run Nature Center, 6600 River Rd., Fredericksburg.
$5 per person.

Elby Brass at the Sounds of Summer Concert Series
7 – 9 p.m. in Market Square, 907 Princess Anne St., Fredericksburg.

SATURDAY, May 31

Fredericksburg Rescue’s Squadapalooza
8 a.m. – 12 p.m. in Hurkamp Park, 900 Prince Edward St, Fredericksburg.  Live music from the Joe Vex Band, moon bounce, obstacle course, barrel train rides, 9-1-1 education, ambulance and fire truck tours, raffles on the hour, appearance by Rescue Sam.
Free.

My Year of Beds
3 p.m. at England Run Library, 806 Lyons Blvd, Fredereicksburg.
Author, photographer and adventurer Annette Jahnel tells stories from her year driving around the world,
Free.

Classical Ballet of Fredericksburg presents Masterpieces of Dance
3:30 p.m. at Fredericksburg Academy Reed Theater, 10800 Academy Dr, Fredericksburg
$12 general admission.

Family Mud Run
4:30 p.m. at Ron Rosner Family YMCA, 5700 Smith Station Rd, Fredericksburg.
Meet at the Pavilion for some good old fashion family muddy fun.  Bring a change of clothes for the ride home.
