Stafford High School freshman Michael Oliver was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor — germinoma. His Cross Country and Track teammates are holding a fundraising dinner to help the family with expenses. The spaghetti dinner is 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 22, at Stafford High School, 33 Stafford Indians Lane in Fredericksburg. Cost is $10 per person.

“Michael is currently undergoing testing at Children’s Hospital in DC, to confirm germinoma tumors on his pituitary gland,” said Duke DiEugenio, a teammate organizing the event. “He has diabetes insipidus, which doctors are treating with steroids while they wait for more test results.” Once his diagnosis is confirmed, doctors will devise a treatment plan.

Michael also has a GoFundMe account at gofundme.com/teammichael15.
