Wack General Contractor has purchased the full block parcel at 607 William St. in downtown Fredericksburg, formerly owned by the Free Lance-Star Publishing Company. The sale price was $2,820,000, according to Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer, the firm that handled the sale negotiations on behalf of the seller.

Wack GC plans to build a large, mixed-use complex known as Liberty Place on the property. The proposed project will include offices, retail and restaurants on street level, condominiums above and underground parking below for both residents and customers. The condos are expected to range in price from $400,000 to $700,000, according to the City of Fredericksburg Economic Development department.

Liberty Place will be located across Winchester Street from the Amelia Square, a retail, office and condominium project currently under construction.
