Fredericksburg residents Matt Armstrong and Christine Goodwin celebrated the first anniversary of their nonprofit FredXchange in June. Their mission is to establish a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem in the region by the year 2020, so that people can work where they live. The first year anniversary of FredXchange corresponded with the global launch of “startupland.” Fredericksburg was one of only three U.S. cities in the 50 country, 32 city global launch of the film Inc. FredXchange sponsored its third Start-Up Weekend in September. Eight entrepreneurs and the teams formed around them worked round-the-clock to take their idea to business in 54 hours. Read more at:

Start-Up Weekend and Made in FredVA finalist Sarah Perry and her business Living Soil were featured on “foodtank” at A Startup Weekend Success Plans to Employ the Neighborhood and Feed the City.

Local entrepreneur Chris Muldrow designed an app to track Illness. Icky Track is available for $1.99 on the Apple and Amazon app stores.
