The Germanna Community College Educational Foundation (GCCEF), with a huge assist from philanthropist Joe Daniel, announced it raised a record $200,000 at its 21st Annual Scholarship Monte Carlo Night April 17, 2015, at the Daniel Technology Center in Culpeper.

Daniel, a longtime Germanna supporter and Foundation board member, received a standing ovation when GCCEF President Russell James introduced him. “The vast majority of the fundraising has been done by this gentleman,” James said of Daniel.

Germanna Educational Foundation provided $270,000 in scholarships in 2014, Daniel noted. “We have this party and it’s a lot of fun, but really when it gets right down to it, it’s all about making sure these students get a break in life,” he said.
