Stafford Educator Receives National Science Teachers Award

Leslie Lausten, the science lead teacher at Hartwood Elementary School in Stafford County, has received a Robert E. Yager Foundation Excellence in Teaching Award from the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA).

The award, named after the former NSTA president, recognizes K-12 teachers for excellence and innovation in science education. Lausten will receive her award in July at the NSTA National Congress on Science Education in Omaha, Neb.

The Arlington, Va.-based National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) is the largest professional organization in the world promoting excellence and innovation in science teaching and learning for all.
